Since October 2025, the Computer Lab has been operating in newly renovated facilities on the ground floor of the Biology Building. The room includes 26 workstations for students. Currently, there are 18 PCs equipped with graphics cards and processors ranging from i3 (8 GB RAM), i5 (16 GB RAM), to i7 (16 GB RAM). In spring 2026, these are expected to be replaced with 26 more advanced computers.

Internet access is provided via wired connections, with wireless access also available through the AUTH eduroam network. The lab is also equipped with a modern 86-inch interactive touchscreen board with a camera for remote teaching. The board operates on Android software, has a permanently connected Windows PC, and supports laptop connections for optimal presentation of teaching material.
The Computer Lab supports the teaching of several courses in the undergraduate curriculum of the School of Geology.
Outside of scheduled teaching hours, the lab is open daily (except holidays) from 09:00 to 13:00. Its primary goal is to provide students with free internet access and facilities for preparing coursework, presentations, etc.
Through the lab, students have access to all available AUTH software via the Digital Governance Unit (https://it.auth.gr/services/software/), including MATLAB, SPSS, and others. Additionally, they can use specialized software acquired or provided to the School of Geology, such as Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, MapInfo), geophysical data interpretation software (IPIWIN), and engineering geology software (RockLab).
The School of Geology also has access to Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and Office 365 Education services, allowing both lab computers and personal devices of staff and students to use selected Microsoft software packages free of charge, including operating systems, programming tools, and Microsoft Office.
